What is Occupational Therapy?
Pediatric occupational therapy is a specialized intervention designed to help children develop the skills they need to thrive in the "occupations" of childhood-- playing, learning, socializing, and completing self-care. Pediatric occupational therapists work with children on gaining the skills needed for these occupations. Some of these skills include motor skills, sensory processing, emotional regulation, and executive functioning. Through personalized interventions, occupational therapy aims to empower children to build essential skills, foster independence, boost confidence, and enhance overall functional well-being.
